Gilbert Upset in Scottsdale

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. —
Brad Gilbert was upset Friday in the quarterfinals of the $415,000 Eagle of Scottsdale tennis tournament, losing to Amos Mansdorf of Israel, 5-7, 6-3, 6-0.
Also advancing were Ivan Lendl, Stefan Edberg and Emilio Sanchez. Lendl beat Yugoslavian Goran Ivanisevic, 6-4, 6-4; Edberg downed Kevin Curren, 6-3, 3-6, 7-6, and Sanchez eliminated Jim Courier, 6-3, 6-3.
