Tujunga Man Arrested in Shooting Death

A Tujunga man was arrested Monday in the death of an acquaintance who was gunned down last week in front of his home in Sunland, Los Angeles police said.

Vanglis D. Garafolo, 31, was arrested at 11:30 a.m. at an apartment in Lancaster. Detective Al Ferrand said the suspect had been hiding in the apartment since the March 6 shooting of James Bailey, 28, of Sun Valley.

Police said Bailey was shot to death near the door of his trailer in the 10700 block of Nassau Avenue. The motive for the shooting was not known. Police said witnesses to the shooting identified Garafolo.

Garafolo was being held without bail on suspicion of murder at the Foothill Division Jail in Pacoima.
