‘Roseanne’ Beats ‘The Cosby Show’
“Roseanne” turned fairly serious last week with an episode about one of the daughters getting an appendectomy, but the change of pace certainly didn’t hurt the show’s ratings. The first-year ABC sitcom was at the top of the A.C. Nielsen chart released Tuesday, having been watched in about 25 million homes. NBC won the prime-time race overall, however, with “Those She Left Behind” chalking up the biggest ratings for an NBC TV movie in nearly three years. The full list of ratings is on Page 10.
* With “Roseanne” in front of it, the new ABC comedy “Anything But Love” got off to an impressive start last Tuesday, attracting viewers in about 20.4 million homes and finishing as the seventh-most-watched show of the week.
