Beverly Hills : 8 Teachers May Be Laid Off
The Board of Education agreed to notify eight probationary teachers that they may not be re-employed for the 1989-90 school year.
The teachers, five from the high school and three from the middle schools, are on probationary status because they have been teaching in the district less than two years.
Under the state education code, the district must notify teachers by March 15 that they may be laid off during the next school year. The district will make a final decision on the layoffs after it is more certain about its budget.
