Israel and the PLO

I have never been as emotionally affected as I was when I saw the gut-wretching photograph on The Times front page Feb. 18 of the Palestinian child being led away to his unknown fate by Israeli soldiers. The look of fear on that young boy’s face, the anguish on his mother’s face and the helplessness expressed by his father will haunt me for a very long time.

I wonder what our children would do if our country was taken away from us by an aggressor, as Palestine was taken from its people? I am incensed that billions of our tax dollars are handed over to Israel, a country of only 3 million people. Have the Israelis been taking lessons in human rights violations from the Soviet Union?
