WORLD : Aquino Guard Kills Wife, Her Lover
President Corazon Aquino’s chief bodyguard shot and killed his wife and her lover when he caught them in bed in a motel, officials said today.
The shooting occurred a day after a mob stabbed and beat to death another presidential guard who in a drunken rampage had wounded two people by firing into a crowd.
Capt. Nestor Garnace, the chief bodyguard, apparently was spying on his wife and her lover and burst into their room Thursday shortly after they checked into a motel in the Manila suburb of Pasay City, police said.
Garnace surrendered immediately and remained in custody pending charges by the military.
