Article on Hog Hunting Was Way Off the Mark

Share

The March 8 article on hog hunting, together with the picture of the happy hunter hunched over a dead hog with an arrow stuck in its side, says a lot: It says that killing animals for sport is no different from tossing baseballs.

The article speaks in a casual manner of killing the hog (the weight of the “average kill” or “his shot penetrated both the heart and hungs”) while laundering out the brutality and viciousness of what takes place.

By running such a piece, you acknowledge this behavior as being no different from other sports. And what’s worse, by doing so you advertise and promote it.
