Surviving the Big One

I’m disturbed by the ads for Universal Studios’ new attraction, Earthquake--The Big One. It’s irresponsible to make light of the deadly seriousness of an 8.3 quake by making it a thrilling ride in which one “survives the big one--again and again.”
At the very least, Universal should hand riders a pamphlet on earthquake preparedness that tells the truth: that thousands of people may not survive the “big one” when it actually occurs.
