INFORMATION OVERLOAD

I just got to one of January’s issues. I read, with some amusement, “Information Overload” (by Richard Saul Wurman, Jan. 22), concerning how selected Angelenos employ “strategies” in handling the blizzard of information in today’s world. Their stories reveal little in the way of strategy, given that that word implies some aggressive design of action. They seem to be hanging on like the rest of us, employing the same basic strategy used by the occupants of a sinking rowboat, whose options are limited to use of the bailing bucket or sinking.
But thank you for the article--all commiseration is of assistance.
