Assemblyman Lewis
Assemblyman John R. Lewis (R-Orange) is a man of great principle and integrity who has served our district with distinction for many years. While we believe that he will be completely vindicated of the charges brought by Atty. Gen. John K. Van de Kamp, it’s regrettable that the attorney general’s office is being used for such blatantly political purposes.
Assemblyman Lewis’ effectiveness in getting other Republicans elected to the Legislature is the real “crime” for which he must be punished. John is undefeatable in his district, so another way had to be found to eliminate him.
Isn’t it a bit more than coincidental that Van de Kamp’s interest peaked just as he embarked on his quest for the governorship in 1990?
