Stanley C. Livingston has become the senior partner in the San Diego architectural firm of Salerno/Livingston & Partners. The company’s focus is on the rehabilitation of existing facilities. Livingston assumed the managing role upon the retirement of Daniel N. Salerno.

Maureen Reed, a veteran of the firm Richard Nagy Martin since 1971, has been named a principal. Based in Newport Beach, she will continue her role as chief operating officer and as a member of the board of directors. Also, Eric John Zuziak takes on the new position of associate project manager for the design department. He will be responsible for design and management of various projects throughout Southern California, Arizona and Nevada.

A new vice president in charge of architecture and planning has been named at Wessman Development: Robert E. Wolff. He brings with him 14 years of architectural experience and extensive knowledge in Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD), which will be used for in-house production.

The multidiscipline firm The Keith Companies, with offices throughout the Southwest and Pacific Rim, has appointed Stu Dygert as project manager. The firm specializes in civil engineering, land planning, surveying, architecture, landscape architecture, public works, water resources and environmental analysis.

Marty Johnson is residential business development coordinator at CYP, Inc. She will promote and implement marketing efforts for the company through networking activities and establishing new contacts. CYP is a full-service architectural and planning firm, headquartered in Irvine.

Interior Designers

A new associate has been announced at Hellmuthy, Obata & Kassabaum, Inc.: Gladys Altshuler. She joins the Los Angeles firm as director of marketing for HOK Interior Group, which provides design services to clients throughout the U.S. and abroad.

The Southern California chapter of the National Kitchen and Bath Association has installed Stewart Fair as 1989 president. He was president of the group in 1988.

Mike Shanks of D.M. Shanks Painting Co. in Chatsworth has been elected president of the Los Angeles County Painting and Decorating Contractors Association.

Carol L. Hinton has joined the Los Angeles-based design firm of J. Howard & Associates. Her past across-the-board experience includes corporate office design, health-care facilities, restaurants and presentation centers. One of Hinton’s projects was the 140,000-square foot palace of King Hussein of Jordan in Amman.

Wayne Alvey, vice president/branch manager of the La Mirada office of Daum/Johnstown American, has been elected 1989 president of the Southern California/Great Los Angeles chapter, Society of Industrial and Office Realtors.

The position of director of design has been given to David L. Goodale as he joins CHCG Architects, Inc. Goodale brings 12 years of experience as a senior project designer to the Los Angeles- and Montclair-based firm, which specializes in corporate, educational, public, industrial and health-care designs.

Dolores Reyes has stepped up to a new position, research director of the North San Diego County district office at Grubb & Ellis Commercial Real Estate Services. Her duties will include creating and maintaining databases for all five divisions of the firm, in addition to collecting and analyzing market research information.

The Klabin Company, a Los Angeles-based office and industrial real estate firm, has named Daniel I. Bovill chief administrative officer. He will address the areas of finance, budget and corporate expansion while sharing the operational responsibilities. Bovill was also named to the company’s executive management committee.

Larry Arman of RE/Max Rolling Hills was named the company’s top producer in California for the second year, as well as throughout the RE/MAX network.

Property Managers

Brenda McKinnon is the newly elected president of Bayco Financial Corp. She was general manager in the Torrance-based firm, which specializes in real estate management and marketing, as well as leasing.

The firm of C. Thomas Ruppert & Associates, based in Los Angeles, has appointed Richard L. Williams vice president of its commercial and industrial property management services. His responsibilities will include managing, tracking and reporting of those properties handled by the company.

Richard P. Welles has put on two hats: vice president of asset management of Indivest Inc., a West Los Angeles development firm, and property manager of Center West, an office tower under construction in Westwood. Welles’ prime function will be to supervise the opening and operation of Center West.

The Los Angeles County Chapter of Community Associations Institute has announced its officers for 1989: Jan Hickenbottom, owner of Condo Consulting Services, president; Robert Nordlund, Association Reserves, president-elect; and, Timothy Cline, Robert W. Little Insurance Agency, vice president.

Cheryl Kautzky has been appointed property manager of Auerbach Leasing & Management, headquartered in Santa Monica. Her responsibilities will cover all aspects of property management, including leases, financial planning and corporate reports, maintenance and landscape personnel, and future sale or refinancing.

Three staff members at JMA Properties have new titles: Diane G. Wilson, property manager, responsible for management and construction of the Tokai Bank Building in downtown Los Angeles; Anna J. Nelson, acquisition analyst, responsible for analyzing commercial real estate purchases; and, Maryreed O’Hanlon, a newcomer, retail portfolio manager, responsible for shopping center management and remodel construction for properties located in Los Angeles County, Orange County and San Diego.

The Orange County Chapter of the Building Owners & Managers Association (BOMA) has announced Members of the Year Award recipients for 1988: Barbara Steck of Signal Development Corp. was named BOMA 1988 Member of the Year, and Jennifer Corbett-Shramo was named BOMA Associate Member of the Year.

Robert Garman, vice president of Directors Mortgage Loan Corp., has been installed as president of the Inland Empire Mortgage Bankers Assn. Other officers are James Porras, vice president; Marta Arbaugh, secretary, and Rory Shannon, treasurer.

Carrie A. Hawkins, president of Trinity Mortgage Company, Inc. in Arcadia has been elected president of the Southern California Mortgage Bankers Association. The organization has over 100 mortgage banking firms and is the largest regional group in the nation.

Landauer Associates has engaged Ronald E. Malmfeldt as senior vice president and general manager of its Los Angeles office. He will manage the office’s appraisal and consulting practice, which focuses on investment and marketing consulting of industrial and commercial real estate.

Christopher Lee has entered Kibel, Green Inc. as its senior vice president of the Real Estate and Financial Institutions Consulting Division. This sector of the company provides planning, analysis and management of investment projects.

The promotion of Kurt J. Huppert to vice president has been announced by GMAS Realty Advisors, a Burbank-based firm working as an investment advisor to Mortgage and Realty Trust.

The newly named vice president of Newport Pacific Realty and Investment, Ray Rosenthal, has taken on the responsibilities of overseeing the company’s real estate sales and investment operations, including apartment, industrial, office and retail properties. The company is based in Newport Beach.

Koss Real Estate Investments has added a new staff member, K. Lee Steidel, as property manager. She was formerly president of Lee Steidel Investments.

Civil Engineers

Accolades

The California Council of Civil Engineers and Land Surveyors has honored California firms for projects requiring innovative engineering solutions to overcome difficult, unusual or environmentally sensitive conditions. Project of the Year awards went to Rick Engineering for its Miramar Ranch North in the San Diego area, and Van Dell and Associates of Orange County for the design of John Wayne Airport, as well as its project, Village of Westpark, in Irvine. William B. Rick, chairman of the board of Rick Engineering, was presented with the Council’s Community Service Award.

Developers

Peter Del Franco has joined Lowe Associates, Inc. as chief financial officer. Del Franco will manage the Los Angeles-based firm’s fiscal activities as well as its affiliates. Lowe is a national real estate investment, development and asset management organization.

A newcomer to Meyer Properties of Santa Fe Springs is Gary Terrazas. He joins the real estate holding company as vice president, finance.

Gail Edward Tubbs, an expert in project management and administration, has been named a partner in Jordan Associates, a Los Angeles consulting firm.
