2 Classrooms Destroyed in La Puente School Fire

Fire destroyed two classrooms at an elementary school near La Puente on Sunday, causing $450,000 in damage, authorities said.
The blaze occurred at Bassett Elementary School at 1151 N. Van Wig Ave. in an unincorporated area near the northwest border of La Puente, county fire officials said. About 30 firefighters fought the blaze.
Arson investigators were sent to the school but were unable to immediately determine the fire’s cause, authorities said.
