Local News in Brief : Brentwood Group to Sue Over Garage
The board of directors of the Brentwood Park Property Owners Assn. has voted to file suit against the City of Los Angeles to try to overturn a decision by the Board of Zoning Appeals to issue Deputy Dist. Atty. Gilbert I. Garcetti a variance that allows him to keep his oversized garage.
Anthony Barash, the group’s attorney, said the suit will be filed within 30 days in Los Angeles Superior Court. He did not know if Garcetti will also be named in the suit.
The nearly four-year fight between the homeowners association and Garcetti began in 1985 when the group complained that the three-car garage Garcetti was building was not set back far enough from his property line.
