A woman has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder for shooting her former lover and his girlfriend in their Panorama City apartment, authorities said.

Charisse Lewis, 33, will be sentenced April 11 in Van Nuys Superior Court. She faces a sentence of 15 years to life in prison.

She was arrested in October in Chicago after seeking treatment for sickle cell anemia, said Deputy Dist. Atty. Stephen Baron. Lewis fled after the July 17 killings, and authorities alerted hospitals to notify them if she sought treatment.

She was originally charged with first-degree murder in the deaths of Jewel Prude, 34, the man with whom she had lived for two years, and Shirley Marie Johnson, 35. Prosecutors agreed to allow Lewis to plead guilty to the lesser charge as part of a plea agreement.
