IN BRIEF : Miami Dolphins Sign Clark, Pease
The Miami Dolphins, one of the most active teams in the free-agent market, have signed two more players--former Chicago Bears linebacker Greg Clark and former Houston Oilers quarterback Brent Pease.
Monday’s signings increased to six the number of free agents signed this year by the Dolphins.
Clark, 24, started one game for the Bears last year. He played outside linebacker, but the Dolphins will look at him on the inside.
Pease, 24, is a candidate to become Dan Marino’s backup. A former 11th-round draft choice, Pease completed six of 22 passes last year for 64 yards.
“Pease is a guy we wanted to get,” Dolphins coach Don Shula said. “We worked him out and we liked him. He’s a good athlete. Clark is a young linebacker and a good special-teams player.”
