In Brief : Magazine Honors Bills Manager

ST. LOUIS —
The Sporting News magazine has named Buffalo Bills General Manager Bill Polian 1988 NFL Executive of the Year for his role in the turnaround of the team.
The magazine said today that Polian received 14 1/2 of 45 votes cast by NFL front office personnel. When Polian replaced Terry Bledsoe as Bills general manager in 1985, Buffalo was coming off its second straight 2-14 season. Last season, the Bills finished 12-4 and won their first AFC East championship since 1980.
