The Charter Oak Community Scholarship Foundation is accepting applications for post-secondary school scholarships.

High school seniors and graduates of the Charter Oak Unified School District are eligible to apply for the $200 to $600 awards. Residents from the district, which includes portions of Covina, San Dimas and Glendora, are also eligible.

Applicants must intend to attend an accredited college or trade school anywhere in the country in the 1989-90 academic year, said Sophie Williams, a spokeswoman for the foundation.

Some of the 30 scholarships to be awarded will go to students with a history of learning disabilities and to college students majoring in special education, Williams said.

Seniors can obtain applications at the Charter Oak High School counseling office, and other applicants can get them at the district office, 20240 Cienega Ave., Covina.

High school seniors will be interviewed by foundation members April 18-20. Other applicants will not be interviewed.
