Crescenta Valley Panel Names Interim Leaders

Share

Two executives of the Southern California Gas Co. are serving temporarily as the first leaders of the newly formed Crescenta Valley Town Council.

Dan Rendler, 28, and Anthony Hurtado, 29, were elected president pro tem and recording secretary pro tem of the nine-member council during an installation ceremony March 16.

About 150 residents of the foothill communities of La Crescenta and Montrose attended the ceremony--”a surprisingly large number since several other things were going on that night,” Rendler said.

The council represents 20,000 residents of the foothill community and will advise county officials on local issues. Community problems and concerns will be discussed at the next meeting, to be held at 7 p.m. April 20 at the Crescenta Valley County Park Recreation Center at Honolulu and Dunsmore avenues.

A five-member executive board also will be elected at the meeting. A nominating committee will recommend a slate of candidates for the positions of president, vice president, recording and corresponding secretaries and treasurer.
