Tight End Griggs Signs Contract With Chiefs

KANSAS CITY, Mo. —
Tight end Billy Griggs of the New York Jets has signed a two-year contract with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Griggs, an unrestricted free agent, will compete with veterans Jonathan Hayes and Alfredo Roberts for the Chiefs’ starting tight end job. Griggs was a backup to Pro Bowl tight end Mickey Shuler for four seasons. He said he was set to sign with the Cleveland Browns before getting a call from the Chiefs.
