Hecht Picked as Envoy

WASHINGTON — President Bush announced Friday that he is nominating former Nevada Sen. Chic Hecht to be ambassador to the Bahamas. Hecht was defeated in November by Nevada’s Democratic Gov. Richard H. Bryan.
