Local News in Brief : Boyfriend Sought in Woman’s Slaying
Los Angeles police on Friday were searching for the boyfriend of a 45-year-old Sherman Oaks woman who was slain Thursday.
Berta Hevia was shot in the chest about 10:45 p.m. Thursday in her home in the 15200 block of La Maida Street. She died shortly after she was taken to Sherman Oaks Community Hospital, police said.
Hevia was found by her roommate after the assailant fled. Police said Hevia’s boyfriend, who detectives declined to identify, was suspected of shooting her during an argument.
