Share

Ronald A. Altoon, a Los Angeles architect of Armenian heritage, is leading a volunteer effort to assist in the reconstruction of buildings destroyed by the Dec. 7, 1988 earthquake in Armenia.

Altoon’s team includes five Bay Area Architects and an architectural researcher from Washington.

The two-week visit is being sponsored by the California Council, the American Institute of Architects. The group will share its expense in the design and construction of buildings able to withstand the stress of earthquakes.
