Billie Jean King, who holds a record 20 Wimbledon titles, will be the 1989 recipient of the Forest Hills Award to be presented Saturday, May 6, at the $602,500 Tournament of Champions.

King won 13 U.S. Open titles and singles victories in the French Open and Australian Open, was ranked No. 1 in the world five times and was in the top 10 for 17 years. She led the U.S. doubles list for a record 12 years and won 29 Virginia Slims circuit singles titles.

King founded the Women’s Tennis Assn. in 1973 and the Women’s Sports Foundation in 1974. She was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 1987.
