Freeway Chase Ends in Crash; 2 May Be Dead
A 95-m.p.h. chase from Orange County to San Diego County ended in a crash that may have killed two of the four suspects in a stolen pickup truck, police reported Saturday night.
The pursuit began in Irvine.
Irvine police said ambulances were called to the crash scene on Interstate 5 at the Mission Avenue off-ramp in Oceanside.
The chase between the pickup truck, Irvine Police Department patrol cars and Highway Patrol units reached speeds in excess of 95 m.p.h.
The chase began following a report that a car in that city had been burglarized. Police said the pickup truck had been stolen in Anaheim.
