The State : Guardian Angel Arrested

Share

An altercation between residents of San Francisco’s Tenderloin District and six Guardian Angels resulted in one arrest and a minor injury, police said. The incident started when a young trainee of the Guardian Angels, an all-volunteer neighborhood watch group, traded punches with a local resident and more than 20 officers were called to defuse the situation, police said. One Guardian Angel was arrested when police said he interfered with an officer during the scuffle. Another Angel suffered minor cuts to his right hand when he allegedly struck a resident. Members of the group had recently moved into a donated apartment in the area to help prevent crime, police said. The Tenderloin is known as an area plagued with a high incidence of drug use, drug-related crime and homelessness.
