No Slides Reported at Agoura Hills Ridge

A 160-foot ridge in Agoura Hills that is threatening to collapse remained firm Thursday, authorities said.

No sliding had occurred by Thursday evening, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Sgt. David Stunson of the Malibu substation. Officials said cracks discovered at the top and bottom of the slope south of the Ventura Freeway near Liberty Canyon Road could cause the ridge to collapse at any time.

The ridge overlooks a neighborhood and carries water lines and long-distance telephone cables, officials said.
