Giorgio Corp.: The San Francisco-based company reported first-quarter earnings of $1.7 million on sales of $259.8 million, compared with profit of $2 million on sales of $243.1 million in the same period in 1988. Operating profit, led by Di Giorgio’s building materials operations, improved in the latest quarter from a year ago, the company said.
