Next fall’s Saturday morning children’s line up on CBS will feature three new series--”The California Raisins,” “Dink, the Little Dinosaur” and “Rude Dog and the Dweebs”--as well as five returning series, the network said Wednesday.

Four current series will have their final broadcasts Sept. 2: “Superman,” “Hey Vern, It’s Ernest!,” “Teen Wolf” and “Mighty Mouse: The New Adventures.”

The new season kicks off Sept. 16.

Returning shows include “Garfield and Friends,” which will be expanded to an hour in its second season; “Pee-wee’s Playhouse,” “Jim Henson’s Muppet Babies,” “The Adventures of Raggedy Ann and Andy” and “CBS Storybreak,” a series of animated adaptations of children’s books hosted by Bob Keeshan, now in its sixth season.

The California Raisins, a Motown-style Claymation singing group introduced in commercials for California raisin growers, will take viewers on a “Magical Mystery Tour” each week from a penthouse above their recording studio.

“Dink, The Little Dinosaur” will feature an animated baby brontosaurus who “combs the raw frontier of Earth 65 million years ago” with his prehistoric friends.

“Rude Dog and the Dweebs” stars the super-cool Rude Dog, who drives a pink ’56 Cadillac, and his gang of equally cool canine friends, tracking them through their adventures on the streets in stylized animation of “hot pinks and neon.”
