Noon’s U.S. Best, County Record Now 68-1 3/4
Fallbrook junior Brent Noon threw a 1989 national best in the shotput Thursday, hitting 68-feet-1 3/4 in Fallbrook’s dual meet with visiting Poway.
Noon topped his previous best of 67-8 1/2, set at Saturday’s Sundevil Invitational.
The 68-1 3/4 also is a county record. He has now bettered the previous record of 65-11 1/4--which stood for 15 years--six times in one week. His throws Thursday were 67-1 1/2, 67-1, 66-4 1/4, 65-6 1/2, 68-1 1/4 and 67-7.
Noon also extended his 1989 county lead in the discus to 174-11.
