The federal government sought to jail former Detroit Red Wings Bob Probert until he is tried on charges of importing cocaine into the United States.

Probert allegedly left a drug and alcohol treatment center twice this month without permission, accompanied the second time by two teen-age patients with whom he went drinking, federal officials said in filing a motion seeking to revoke his $50,000 bond and put him behind bars until his trial.

The Red Wings suspended Probert upon his arrest, and he was banned days later by the National Hockey League.
