Singer-songwriter Lionel Richie and his wife, Brenda, both graduates of Tuskegee University, have pledged $500,000 to their alma mater to endow a chair in the school of business. Richie, who has won an Oscar for “Say You, Say Me,” plus a host of Grammy and American Music awards, is a graduate of the university’s business school; Brenda Richie graduated with a degree in social work. Tuskegee President Benjamin F. Payton said that no one has yet been named to the Lionel and Brenda Richie Chair.
