Robert C. Flory, an offensive lineman from Huntington Beach, and two other University of Arizona football players have been placed on probation by the school’s athletic department as a result of separate off-the-field incidents last month.

Financial aid was withdrawn for seniors-to-be Flory and Donald G. Salum, an outside linebacker from Colorado Springs. Flory, Salum and junior-to-be defensive lineman Paul W. Glonek of Palos Hills, Ill., were placed on probation.

Athletic Director Cedric Dempsey said legal proceedings are pending against Flory and Salum.

Flory faces misdemeanor counts of resisting arrest, threats and intimidation, disorderly conduct and criminal damage. He was arrested at a bar after officers said he allegedly assaulted and threatened two men and scuffled with police.

Flory played for the Wildcats last season, but underwent back surgery during the winter and Coach Dick Tomey said previously he would not play in the fall.
