‘Back on the Right Route’ to Fuel Efficiency and Clean Air

Share

Instead of spending millions of dollars studying air pollution, its effects, possible solutions, etc. and then waiting several years to implement the plan while it’s fought out in the courts, why don’t we save ourselves a lot of time and:

1. Immediately make diamond lanes out of at least 50% of all the freeway lanes in the Los Angeles area (e.g., on a four-lane freeway, two lanes are diamond; on a five-lane freeway, three lanes are diamond). When the single freeway commuter starts to see two or three lanes open on a daily basis that he/she can’t get into, I’m sure we’ll see a major increase in car pools.

2. Immediately make all bicycle purchases in the state of California tax free and 100% tax deductible.
