The UCLA men and Washington women won the varsity eight championships at the Pacific Coast Rowing Championships on Lake Natoma near Sacramento.

Washington repeated as overall Pacific 10 Conference team champions, and UC Santa Barbara won the Western Intercollegiate Rowing Assn. team championship for the second consecutive year.

UCLA set a course record with a time of 5 minutes 45.8 seconds to take the Pacific Coast title for the third consecutive season.

The Washington women continued to dominate the varsity eight competition, capturing the Pacific Coast title for the 10th consecutive year.
