Bill Yeoman, former football coach at the University of Houston who was severely criticized by the National Collegiate Athletic Assn. for recruiting violations that led to sanctions against the school, has been put on administrative leave, the Houston Post reported.
Yeoman had been working as a fund-raiser for the university. He resigned as coach after the 1986 season and worked as an athletic fund-raiser until last December, when the NCAA ordered that Yeoman be disassociated from all school athletics as part of the school’s three-year probation.
The NCAA banned the Cougars from bowl games for two years and reduced scholarships after finding 25 rules violations, including cash payments of up to $500 to prospective players.
