IN BRIEF : Wilder’s Drug Test ‘Totally Negative’
A drug test Tampa Bay running back James Wilder volunteered to take after being arrested last weekend for possession of a substance believed to be marijuana came back “totally negative,” the team said.
Coach Ray Perkins said the test was administered solely to clarify Wilder’s situation. “It had nothing to do with him testing positive before, because he has not,” the coach said.
Wilder was arrested in Clayton, Mo., early Saturday after a car he owned but was not driving was stopped for speeding. A small bag of a substance believed to be marijuana was found during a routine check of the vehicle. St. Louis County prosecutors are awaiting test results on the substance found in the automobile.
