Betsy King, continuing her hot play despite rainy weather, shot a five-under-par 67 Friday to take a one-stroke lead in the second round of the LPGA Championship at the Jack Nicklaus Sports Center in Mason, Ohio.

King, the tour’s leading money-winner this year, had a total of 136.

Ayako Okamoto, slipping once during her early-round mastery over the 6,359-yard course, bogeyed the final hole for a 68 and a 137.

At 139 were first-round co-leader Pat Bradley, who followed an opening 67 with a 72; Susie Redman, who shot a 71, and Susan Sanders, who also had a 67 to share the low round of the day with King.
