Controversy Over a Word in Graham Parker’s Video
MTV’s refusal to air Graham Parker’s video “Soul Corruption” because it uses the word nigger is outrageous (Pop Eye, by Paul Grein, May 14). Any idiot who reads the lyrics can figure out that the word is used in an anti-racist context.
Why must artistic perception, humor and commentary perennially suffer at the hands of these corporate buffoons in leather pants?
