The Nosotros Golden Eagle Awards, to be handed out on June 9, will honor Lucille Ball with a special lifetime achievement award. Nosotros, founded by Ricardo Montalban in 1970, recognizes outstanding contributions by Latinos to the entertainment industry as well as other performers for their achievements in projecting a positive image in the entertainment industry. Other celebrities scheduled to receive awards at the 19th annual ceremony include Edward James Olmos (outstanding actor), Maria Conchita Alonso (outstanding actress), Daphne Zuniga (most promising actress) as well as actress Ana-Alicia, singer Vikki Carr, actor A Martinez and director Ramon Menendez. A special tribute will be presented to 94-year-old Pedro J. Gonzales and the 1988 feature film “Break of Dawn,” the story about Gonzales’ life as the first Spanish-language radio broadcaster in the U.S. Lalo Guerrero will receive the lifetime achievement award for music. Geraldo Rivera will host the ceremony at the Beverly Hilton.
