Murdoch Firm Sells Travel Information Group: Reed International has signed a definitive agreement for its previously announced $825-million purchase of the Travel Information Group, a travel and electronic publishing business, from Australia-based News Corp., which is run by Rupert Murdoch. The deal still must be approved by regulators in the United Kingdom and by British-based Reed’s stockholders, who are expected to vote in late June. The Travel Information Group publishes business information for the travel industry, including such reference works as the Hotel & Travel Index and the Official Meeting Facilities Guide.
