Fullerton : City to Honor Students for Community Activities

The Fullerton City Council will honor about 80 students from public and private schools this month for their work in school and community activities.

The awards are part of the city’s annual Student Recognition Program. Each student will receive a plaque. Grace Carroll Miranda, program coordinator, said the goals are “to encourage youths to become involved in community activities, to stimulate them to become well-rounded individuals and to provide an incentive and recognition for high personal standards and conduct.”

The students are chosen for the awards by their respective schools and must be involved in extracurricular school or community activities.

The high school recipients of the awards will be honored at ceremonies at their schools later this month. The elementary and junior high students winning the awards will be collectively honored at the Tuesday meeting of the City Council.
