This week marks the first time that two hits on Billboard’s pop singles chart are unavailable in the standard seven-inch vinyl configuration. The hits--De La Soul’s “Me Myself and I” and Whistle’s “Right Next to Me”--are available instead on 12-inch vinyl and cassette singles. . . . Capitol-EMI Music has purchased a 50% interest in Enigma Entertainment, the Los Angeles-based company that was responsible for Capitol’s best-selling album of the past five years, Poison’s “Open Up and Say . . . Ahh!”

Local bands including Dream Six, Apache Dancers and the Wallets will be featured on the score of the new Roger Corman film, “Hollywood Blvd. 2.” Ex-porn star Ginger Lynn stars in the movie, due from New Horizon Pictures in August. . . . The Coconut Teaszer in West Hollywood will showcase unsigned local bands every other Tuesday beginning June 20. Set to play at a special preview on June 13: Rebel Train, David Shelley’s Painted Horses, the Sheilas, Slave, Rain on Fire and Sacred Heart. . . . Dada Nada, a new act formed by former Ebn-Ozn front man Robert Ozn, recently became the first white “house music” act to cross over to the mainstream dance charts.
