On Thursday at 7 p.m., the Irvine Fine Arts Center will honor 13 Orange County high school students chosen through statewide competition to study at the California State Summer School for the Arts. The summer school is a pre-professional program at Cal Arts in Valencia for teen-agers aspiring to careers in the arts and entertainment industries.
The Arts Recognition Day ceremony, supported by El Paso Natural Gas Co., will award medals to: Luis Andrade of Anaheim (visual arts); Richard Bernstein of Seal Beach (theater); Nadina Fernandez of Placentia (dance); Travis Gregory of Huntington Beach (theater); Jason Hernandez of Santa Ana (visual arts); Joung Kim of Anaheim (visual arts); Erin Lander of Irvine (theater); Nicole Peeples of Orange (creative writing and theater); Sarah Phan of Anaheim (visual arts); Barbara Rosell of Santa Ana (visual arts); Brandon Tisor of Garden Grove (theater); Aaron Triplett of Anaheim (visual arts); and Susan Wong of Santa Ana (visual arts).
