Times Mirror Broadcasting Taps President
Carl (Bud) Carey will join Times Mirror as president of Times Mirror Broadcasting on July 3. Carey, who also will become a Times Mirror vice president, will be responsible for the company’s four network-affiliated television stations: KDFW-TV in Dallas; KTVI in St. Louis; WVTM-TV in Birmingham, Ala., and KTBC-TV in Austin, Tex. Times Mirror Broadcasting’s offices will be in New York City.
Carey, 44, has been vice president and general manager of WNBC-TV in New York, NBC’s flagship owned-and-operated station. Before that, he served as station manager of KNBC in Los Angeles. Times Mirror is a Los Angeles-based media and information company and publishes the Los Angeles Times.
