Peter Fink resigned as Scherer’s chief executive last year in the wake of a successful proxy fight waged by his estranged wife, Karla Scherer, daughter of the company’s founder.
“Mr. Schoepe has provided stability and leadership to R. P. Scherer during a crucial period in the company’s sale process and the board of directors is deeply grateful to him,” said Theodore Souris, Scherer’s secretary and general counsel.
