Gallegly Aide to Head Taxpayer Group

Jere Robings, field representative for Rep. Elton Gallegly (R-Simi Valley), has been named executive director of the Ventura County Taxpayer’s Assn.
Before taking the job with Gallegly, Robings was with Southern California Edison for 38 years, serving as area manager for the Simi Valley, Moorpark and Conejo Valley district. He has also has been president of the Simi Valley Rotary Club and chairman of the board of the Heart Assn. of Ventura County.
Gene Daffern, present executive director of the association, has taken a job as general manager of Capps Electronic Corp. of Ventura.
Robings’ selection was based on his knowledge of Ventura County, Daffern said. “He’s been in Ventura County a long time and knows the players.”
Robings could not be reached for comment. He will assume his new position July 1.
