A 17-year-old Southeast San Diego resident was shot and killed late Friday night by three suspects who accused the victim of not belonging to the neighborhood--even though the victim lived on that same block.
The victim was identified by the San Diego County Coroner’s office as Paul Edward Mallory, who lived in the 5900 block of Kenwood Street.
A spokesman for the San Diego Police Department said Mallory was approached by three males at Kenwood Street and Iona Drive.
“The suspects made reference to the neighborhood belonging to them and started shooting,” the spokesman said. “He fled and was struck in the back of the head by one round.”
The suspects had not been caught or identified Saturday night.
