KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — Indonesia or Japan will host the Asian men’s Basketball Championship in September if the turmoil in China continues and the tournament cannot be held in Beijing, Asian Basketball Confederation Secretary Lum Mun Chak said today.
Lum told reporters that Carl Ching of Hong Kong, the confederation’s president, will watch the developments in China and inform the confederation of the conditions there by the end of June, after which a decision will be made on where to hold the tournament.
