Investigators are seeking the arrest of a man now in custody in New Mexico who they believe killed a 65-year-old woman.
Oceanside police have issued an arrest warrant for Rudolph Jose Roybal, 33, in connection with the slaying of Yvonne Weden in her Rio Viento Court home Saturday.
Weden’s body was discovered by her husband, Paul, who returned from work at 8:30 a.m. She had been stabbed repeatedly, police said. Property was missing from the home, police said.
Roybal was a day laborer and gardener in the Wedens’ neighborhood.
Investigators discovered that the laborer is now in custody in Santa Fe, N.M., on narcotics violations, police said.
