Security Pacific National Bank opened its Orange County regional headquarters recently and immediately promoted a major non-banking activity--its art gallery.

At a cocktail-and-buffet grand opening, the bank showed off 60 pieces of fine art at the permanent Security Pacific Gallery on the main floor of the bank’s 12-story building on Anton Boulevard, overlooking the San Diego Freeway in Costa Mesa.

The paintings, sculptures, collages and other offerings from 14 artists are part of the bank’s 9,000 pieces of artwork on exhibit in its offices worldwide. The Costa Mesa gallery itself is 9,000 square feet and will periodically change its exhibition. Admission and parking for the public are free during gallery hours, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
